This practice is about doing business the way we thought it should be done. It was about servicing a client base well. Common client complaints about accountants is usually in regard to

  • unexpected or excessive fees
  • uncertainty of when the work will be done
  • inability to get hold of their accountants when they need to
  • not understanding the accountant and the accountant not understanding the business
All of these complaints seemed relatively easy to rectify, so that is what we are endeavouring to do:
  • we will provide an estimate of the fee before commencing the work. If the estimate looks like it is likely to be exceeded, we will contact you before this happens, to discuss why this has occurred. If you request work outside the original estimate, we will provide an estimate of the revised work.
  • fees can be paid on a monthly or annual basis. Monthly plans will run for 12 monthly instalments and then will be revised if necessary at each 12 month mark. Annual fees are charged as a deposit the month prior to the work being completed with the balance payable on completion.
  • when we provide a fee estimate we will also discuss the timeframe for when the work will be completed. We will respond to the business landline, mobile phone and emails in a timely manner.
  • quick questions or communication about what your business is doing by phone or email will not result in a fee. Initial consulations with us to discuss your accounting requirements will not result in a fee.
  • clarity about what your business is about and how that business reflects in the accounts. We will meet with you on an annual basis minimum to discuss your business, we will answer your questions, we will provide your training and we will provide you with ideas on how to manage your accounts in an efficient, effective manner.
